13 July 2005There is an acknowledgement that we need to build more housing. However, we need to explore where the priorities should lie and how best to manage housing growth successfully. Whilst avoiding mistakes of the past which, due to poor planning and design, left significant and costly legacies.
The event addressed whether the current framework for delivery can achieve adequate infrastructure investment or are we at risk of building unsustainable, isolated communities without access to transport, services and facilities. It also looked at the key social and economic challenges inherent in creating new communities on a large scale.
