The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: A Palestinian perspective

ippr hosted a Friday Exchange with Karma Nabulsi, Lecturer in International Politics at Oxford University and former PLO representative, at which she discussed the situation on the ground in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the prospect for negotiations going forward. This session also looked ahead to the November elections in the United States to analyse what impact a new President will have on the conflict.

This event was the counterpart to a Friday Exchange held in August 2008 with Moty Cristal, negotiations adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister.

Biography

Karma Nabulsi is Fellow in Politics at St Edmund Hall and University Lecturer in International Relations at Oxford University. Before reading for a doctorate at Balliol, she was a PLO representative, working at the UN, Beirut, London, and Tunis. She was a member of the Palestinian delegation to negotiations from 1991-1993. She is Chair of Trustees of the HOPING foundation, which supports Palestinian refugee youth throughout the Middle East.
