Ideas on the 3rd floor: Reducing poverty in the North East - what can WE do about it?
Tuesday 10 July, 17.30 to 19.00
IPPR North offices, central Newcastle
Many from the world of politics, business and civil society have signed up to the Webb Memorial Trust's January Declaration to work together to make the North East a better place. Those signing the declaration have pledged to work together to create a region that is good for everyone; to make it a place where everyone is treated with dignity regardless of economic status; and to argue for an increased effort to end poverty in the region. But what are the actions needed to get us from where we are to where we want to be? This event will bring together signatories of the declaration with other interested North East stakeholders to identify actions to fight poverty and achieve a fairer more inclusive region.
This event is part of the Ideas on the 3rd Floor programme, which is a series of in-house events on a wide range of topics within politics, culture and society designed to bring the freshest ideas and the most interesting thinkers to Newcastle for intelligent debate of some of today's most pressing social challenges.
The event is free and open to all but it is essential that you book your place as we anticipate demand will be high and space is limited. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
