About ippr north
ippr is the only UK think tank to benefit from offices in both London and the North. ippr north explores the local, regional, national and international dimensions of a diverse range of policy areas.
Our research, together with our stimulating and varied events programme, seeks to drive forward evidence-based, practical policymaking for fair and sustainable communities across the North of England.
Our approach is collaborative and we benefit from extensive sub-national networks, regional associates, and a strong track record of engaging with policymakers at regional, sub-regional and local levels.
2010 sees ippr north driving forward its work for a fairer, more democratic and sustainable North, to make the North of England the ‘place to be’ for progressive policymaking in Europe. This involves:
-
Focusing on innovation and ‘practical’ policymaking
-
Leading central government
-
Facilitating conversations both within and across the North, and with other regions and nations that are facing similar challenges.
