Research Assistant – International Climate Change
6 month fixed term contract
£22,098 per annum plus benefits – Full time
The Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr) is seeking to recruit a research assistant to work on its expanding programme of work on international climate change, especially with its Global Climate Network of think tanks. Working with equivalent, influential research institutes in countries key to successful action on climate change, including the US, China and India, ippr is seeking to reframe the debate as one of opportunity and increased prosperity and security.
The post will involve working on various aspects of GCN’s research projects and assisting with the operation and organisation of the Network, with ippr acting as its secretariat. Duties will include; conducting research, contributing to project development, providing financial and administrative support, communicating with researchers and others in Network member institutes and assisting with events and gaining profile for the Network. The ideal candidate will have proven research skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of international climate change issues is desirable. They will also have the ability to meet conflicting demands and a clear commitment to the work and values of ippr.
