Clare McNeil

Clare's research focuses on social care and social exclusion.

Clare also works on wider economic and social issues including employment, welfare, and previously energy and climate change. Before joining IPPR in 2009, Clare was a policy and media manager at Addaction, the national substance misuse agency, and worked for the Young Foundation and several international NGOs, including the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

Clare graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a first-class MA honours degree in English literature and Italian. She has appeared often on national broadcast media and has written for a range of newspapers and websites.
