Mathew Lawrence

Mat's work focuses on political and democratic reform.

Mathew joined IPPR in June 2013. Previously he worked for the City of London Corporation as a policy officer, focusing on developing their cultural strategy. Prior to that he worked for Fiona Mactaggart MP, working on improving workplace rights for migrant domestic workers.

He holds a dual MA:MSc with distinction from Columbia University and the LSE in world and international history, for which he was awarded a Columbia University Alliance Fellowship. He graduated with first-class honours from the LSE in international history as the recipient of the Sir Huw Wheldon Prize.

Mathew's work focuses on democratic and economic reform. He is also part of the editorial team for Juncture. He has extensive media experience including TV, radio and print.
