Rachael Thomas

Rachael’s research focuses on public service reform in Scotland.

Rachael joined IPPR Scotland in September 2016, having previously worked for the International Commission on Financing Global Education. Prior to that, she worked for Gordon Brown in his roles as UN Special Envoy for Global Education, as a former prime minister and as a member of parliament. She also has experience of working within the Scottish parliament.

Rachael has a MA in international peace and security from King’s College London, and graduated from the University of Aberdeen with first-class honours in politics and international relations.
