Spencer Thompson

Spencer leads a range of projects on work and social policy.

Spencer has written extensively on policy issues related to the labour market, publishing reports on youth unemployment, the link between childcare and maternal employment, and on the role of small business in jobs growth. He is a regular commentator in the UK media, and has written for the Guardian, New Statesman, Huffington Post, Liberal Democrat Voice and Left Foot Forward.

Before joining the IPPR in 2012, Spencer worked at the Work Foundation and at the Greater London Authority, and has a BSc in economics from the University of Sussex.
