Before joining IPPR in 2011, Will was the founding editor of LeftFootForward.org, one of Britain's leading political blogs. He worked previously as associate director for economic growth at the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC, and as a senior policy advisor on enterprise and growth issues at HM Treasury. Will has degrees from Oxford University and Columbia University, where he was a Fulbright scholar.
While at IPPR, Will has focused his research on energy, transport, industrial policy, the creative industries, the European Union, climate change, globalisation and foreign aid. He led the energy, transport and climate change team through most of this period, culminating in Progress magazine’s award for energy and environment thinktank of the year in 2015.
