Code Red. Progressive politics in the digital age

Published Thu 31 Jan 2002
Code Red is the first paper from the digital society programme, setting out their agenda on public policies directed at the e-agenda.

Politics and the internet currently enjoy an uneasy co-existence. It is easy for public policies directed at the e-agenda to assert, if only by implication, that what is good for government and good for business in the digital age will also be good for citizens. Code Red argues that in the digital age, technology is politics and if it is not explicitly shaped by centre-left vallues, then it might come to undermine them.
