Local action on energy use
climate change , communities , energy , resources , science and technology , sustainability
IPPR has evaluated two initiatives that explored locally-based approaches for reducing energy use. These initiatives, part of the Green Streets programme led by British Gas, explored the potential for bringing communities of people together to improve the energy efficiency of homes; encourage people to adopt behaviour that uses less energy; generate renewable energy and deliver wider community benefits.
