New media technologies are transforming many aspects of our economy and society, but so far the police have lagged behind other sectors in taking up the opportunities they bring.  In the years ahead there is an opportunity to use new digital technologies to better connect with citizens and involve them in the design and delivery of police services and the community safety agenda more widely.

This project, undertaken in collaboration with the National Policing Improvement Agency, explores the potential opportunities, as well as the risks, involved in using new media tools to facilitate greater police-to-police and police-to-citizen collaboration.  A report will be published later in 2009.
