The true cost of energy
The true cost of energy
business and industry , energy , personal finances
Using deep-dive data analysis our research seeks to answer two questions: what are the true costs of supplying energy? And are these costs appropriate?
We will use this analysis to draw conclusions about the state of competition in the supply market and what this means for consumers energy prices.
Energy bills are a hot political topic. Rises in energy prices were the main price driver of high inflation in 2011 and many families are struggling to pay their bills. This has led to much attention on the costs of green policies on energy bills and on the profitability of the energy supply companies.
With this project the IPPR aims to bring a new perspective to these debates.
