The way we approach immigration in the UK needs a rethink. Last year, IPPR made the case for an immigration strategy that focused on how to reform immigration rules and policies with the purpose of addressing the structural problems affecting the UK economy.

In this paper we focus on how the complementary integration strategy is needed to ensure that the UK economy benefits as fully as possible from immigration. Our starting point is that the UK needs an integration strategy which aims to maximise the contribution of all migrants.
