Rick leads IPPR's work on improving and reforming public services. He comments regularly on these issues in the print and broadcast media. He has recently appeared on the Today Programme, PM, Newsnight, BBC News Channel and Sky News and has written for The Times, Guardian, Independent and Daily Telegraph.
Rick has a DPhil in politics from Oxford University, where he was a departmental lecturer in politics. He is a councillor in Hackney, London, and a member of the advisory board of Linden Children’s Centre.
In a personal capacity Rick is a member of the Independent Commission on Policing.
