Aditya Chakrabortty is economics leader writer and columnist at the Guardian. He joined the paper following a stint at the BBC where he was a senior producer on the BBC Ten o'clock News and on Newsnight.

Previously, Aditya spent five years as economics producer for the BBC, working with then-economics editor Evan Davis, and his series of reports from China won a Harold Wincott award in 2006. He has also written for the Telegraph, the Financial Times, the FT Magazine and the New Statesman. He took a degree in Modern History from St Hugh's college, Oxford.
