Jess Search

Trustee

Jess Search is chief executive of the Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation, which has given funding and support to over 60 award-winning British documentaries. The Foundation is well known for backing films with a social change agenda such as Chosen, which led to a parliamentary review of child safeguarding in private schools and The End of the Line, which sparked a major campaign against over-fishing.

In partnership with the Sundance Institute, the Foundation created and runs The Good Pitch, which partners filmmakers with NGOs, foundations and brands to create campaigns around films.

Previously, Jess was a Channel 4 commissioning editor for five years. She is still involved in Shooting People, the online social network for filmmakers with 38,000 members that she co-founded in 1998. Jess is also a Cool Brands judge and is currently completing a Film MBA at Cass Business School part-time.
