Nick Comer-Calder

Nick Comer-Calder started his television career at the BBC. In 1986 he highlighted the emerging environmental strategies of big business in a one hour documentary for the BBCs Education Department. Calder moved on to set up The Learning Channel for Discovery Networks Europe and became Vice President of Programming for Discovery. During this time he commissioned the first original programming for a UK cable and satellite documentary channel. Nick was involved in setting up the Sheffield International Documentary Festival and initiated first time film-makers seasons for Discovery in the UK, South Africa, Germany and Holland. In 1997 Nick was promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager for Discovery. In addition to his media work NIck also runs a design and communications company.
