Peter Dale

Peter Dale is founder of the Rare Day Production company, which he established after spending a decade working at Channel 4. Peter has over 30 years' documentary production experience since beginning his career at the BBC, where he directed his first documentary for the Everyman Series in 1980. He was also Head of Documentaries at Channel 4, before leading digital channel More 4 through its conception and launch in 2005.
He left More 4 to focus on Rare Day, an independent producer specialising in high quality documentaries and dramas.
Peter was instrumental in setting up the Channel 4 Britdoc Foundation. His commissioning credits include Molly Dineen’s Lie of the Land, Tina Goes Shopping, A Very Social Secretary,the Death of a President, Tony Blair on Trial, The Government Inspector and Jamie's School Dinners.
