Alex is a regular media commentator on issues relating to migration, Europe, globalisation and development, with recent coverage including: BBC News, Newsnight, Russia Today and the Islam Channel. She is an author for Global Dashboard, and has written for a number of other outlets, including the Guardian’s Comment Is Free, OpenDemocracy, Progress, Public Service Europe, and Left Foot Forward.

Alex rejoined IPPR in August 2013, following a year as Programme Manager at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue. At ISD she was responsible for leading a number of projects across the areas of security, integration and diversity, including management of the European Policy Planners’ Network on Countering Polarisation and Radicalisation. Prior to this Alex was a research fellow at IPPR, where she worked across a range of international issues between 2006 and 2012. She holds an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a BA in International History from the London School of Economics.
