Alex is a programme manager at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, an independent think tank working with leaders in government, business, the media and academia to develop multilateral responses to major global security and socio-economic challenges.
From 2006 to 2012, Alex was a research fellow at IPPR, where her work focused on migration and development, security policy, globalisation, European reform and the politics of the Middle East. During this time, she led a project on political Islam, co-authored The third wave of globalisation and served on the secretariat of the IPPR Commission on National Security in the 21st Century.
She is an author for Global Dashboard, and has written for a number of other outlets, including the Guardian’s Comment Is Free, OpenDemocracy, Progress, Public Service Europe, and Left Foot Forward.
