Alex comments regularly in the media on issues relating to globalisation, migration and development and the politics of the Middle East, and has been interviewed by the BBC Arabic service, MBC News and Russia Today. She is an author for Global Dashboard, and has written for a number of other outlets, including the Guardian’s Comment Is Free, OpenDemocracy, Progress, Public Service Europe, Left Foot Forward and LSE’s Politics and Policy blog, as well as the Center for American Progress and Migration Information Source websites. Her recent work on globalisation has been covered in The Times, FT, Economist, Telegraph, Observer and the Guardian.
She has spoken at several international conferences, including a recent high-level meeting in South Korea hosted by the International Organisation for Migration, a conference on political Islam organised by Al Jazeera, and events on migration and development hosted by the African, Caribbean and Pacific Observatory on Migration.
Before joining IPPR, Alex worked for the sustainable development NGO AccountAbility. She holds a Masters degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a BA honours degree in International History from the London School of Economics.
