Andy Hull is an experienced media performer with recent appearances on BBC Radio 4 Today Programme, BBC World Service and Channel 4 News. He has written articles for The Times and the Guardian, and his research has been covered by Sky News and Al Jazeera, all of the UK’s major broadsheet and tabloid newspapers, and Le Monde, Newsweek and Le Figaro.

Andy led the secretariat for IPPR’s independent Commission on National Security in the 21st Century. He is currently leading IPPR's programme of research on housing.

Prior to joining IPPR in 2008, Andy worked as a Policy Officer at the Metropolitan Police Authority, where he researched and wrote Counter-Terrorism: The London Debate. Before that, he worked for the Metropolitan Police Service, managing an award-winning multi-agency project to reduce truancy, exclusion and youth crime in the London Borough of Southwark. Andy studied Classics at Oxford, where he specialised in philosophy. He is an elected councillor in the London Borough of Islington, where he is Vice Chair of the Islington Fairness Commission.
