Richard Darlington has written for the Guardian, Independent and New Statesman, and has appeared on Newsnight, the Today Programme, the Politics Show, Radio 5 Live and Sky News.
Before joining IPPR in 2011, Richard was head of the Open Left project at Demos and was Special Adviser to Labour's 2010 General Election Coordinator and Secretary of State for International Development, (Douglas Alexander MP). He was also Special Adviser at the Department for Education and Skills, and Senior Press Officer at the Department of Trade and Industry.
Richard has worked as Director of Communications for Creative Partnerships at Arts Council England and previously as Media Manager at IPPR. He has also worked at the TUC, T&G and National Union of Students.
He holds a Masters degree in Critical Theory from the University of Sussex.
