Matthew Whittaker

Matthew is Senior Economist at the Resolution Foundation. He leads Resolution’s work on defining and researching the low-earner group, managing the annual publication of the Low Earners Audit.
He joined the Foundation from the House of Commons Library, where he provided economic and statistical advice to individual Members and to a number of select committees, including Treasury, Health and Transport. Prior to that, he was a policy officer at Hurlstons Corporate Consultants, where he specialised in the UK consumer credit market. In 2009 he received a ‘Mentor of the Year’ award from the National Mentoring Consortium. He received the Clayton Award in Economics when he graduated from Sheffield University.
