Thinking for Tomorrow
Thinking for Tomorrow is a unique space where ippr presents big-picture thinking on a range of policy questions. Thinking for Tomorrow will commission some of the most important academic, political and cultural figures to address big questions beyond the confines of daily political debate.
Using a variety of formats - essays, speeches, 'podcasts' and roundtables - Thinking for Tomorrow will offer reflections on some of the major social challenges and key trends that will face policymakers in decades to come, from security to climate change and religion to economics.
With the progressive label claimed by parties across the political spectrum, Thinking for Tomorrow will also aim to explore the values and ideas being attached to this term. Contributors will be invited to reconsider the meaning and worth of some of the core values of progressive politics in our rapidly changing world.
The ideas from this series will be value-based, thought-provoking and occasionally controversial. While they may not always reflect the positions favoured by ippr, we believe that this is the time to provoke a much wider and bigger debate about what it means to be a progressive today, and what challenges and changes we need to face in the years to come.
