Miatta has extensive experience of developing policy at both national and local level.
Prior to joining IPPR, she worked with local authorities across the country to develop local economic growth policies and negotiate devolution deals with Government.
Before this, she was a political advisor to the Leader of the Opposition and led on the development of local government, housing, energy, climate change and transport policies.
She spent eight years at senior levels in the Cabinet Office. First as Deputy Director in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, where she led on key strategic priorities for No 10 and designed policies across a range of areas, including public service reform, housing, planning, transport and local economic growth.
And then as Head of the Cities Policy Unit, where she was responsible for designing and driving forward the Government’s economic devolution agenda in England. Miatta has a masters and PhD in economic development from the LSE and a first degree in PPE from Oxford.
