Private Roundtable: Forum on Healthcare Sustainability

Covid-19 has proven that the state of UK healthcare is not currently sustainable. As we look to recover, to build back better, and to prepare for an uncertain future, it is vital sustainability is a key national aspiration.

To support that, the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) and Future Health Research have collaborated on extensive new research – exploring the pragmatic and practical actions we could take to better embed healthcare sustainability today. Our focus has been on identifying where there is consensus on what works in the sector, understanding why change doesn’t happen, and setting out what it will take to get progress moving. You can read our report here: Sustainable healthcare: Practical steps to build back better in the English NHS

We hosted a discussion forum to both share our research findings and explore others’ ideas.

The roundtable was a chance to hear new findings from our research – on topics like integration, data, strategic finance, health inequalities and workforce. But it was also an opportunity to discuss ‘what works’, to improve healthcare sustainability.
