The Future of Education
The IPPR, in partnership with NASUWT, is delighted to hold an event on 'The Future of Education'. This will take place on Monday, 9th September, 09:00-10:30 at Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House, 1 Parliament St, Westminster, London SW1A 2JR.
Recent decades have seen enormous economic, social, and technological change. And yet, debates on education policy remain very narrow – focusing on technical and immediately pressing issues about the ‘machinery’ of the education system such as academisation, qualified teacher status and funding systems, rather than the larger economic, social, and technological trends.
We now need to begin to think holistically about how our education system might need to change and consider the larger questions of what kind of education we want UK citizens to have in the future.
This event will discuss the big trends that will shape the future of education and aims to bring fresh thinking to debates on education.
