Webinar: The impacts of the 10-year route to settlement
Join the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU) and Praxis, as we share the findings from recent research into the impacts of the 10-year route to settlement on people’s lives.
Drawing from a survey of over 300 people on the 10-year route, and polling research with the British public about the route, we argue that there is a compelling case to review and reform the ten-year route – so that families and individuals who have made, and continue to make their lives in the UK, can feel fully settled and secure.
We will also hear from people with lived experience of being on the 10-year route to settlement, and the Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP will respond to the findings.
We will be joined by the following speakers:
- The Rt Hon Sir Stephen Timms MP (Labour MP for East Ham)
- Lucy Mort (Senior Research Fellow, IPPR)
- Josephine Whitaker-Yilmaz (Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Praxis)
- Fatou Jinadu (Community Organiser, GMIAU)
The powerpoint presentations from the event can be viewed here and here.
