Webinar Book Launch: ‘Fractured’ with Jon Yates
The coronavirus pandemic has had profound implications for social cohesion across the country. As the government has introduced a range of social distancing measures to deal with the virus, communities have had to adapt to new ways of living together. In his new book ‘Fractured’, Jon Yates argues that the pandemic has offered an unprecedented opportunity to forge a new 'Common Life' - a set of shared practices and institutions - that can strengthen the glue that bonds our societies, in all their diversity.
At this public virtual event hosted by IPPR to launch ‘Fractured’, we will discuss the new book with Jon Yates and a panel of leading politicians and experts on cohesion and integration. The event will be an opportunity to reflect on the ideas in ‘Fractured’, to share IPPR’s latest work on integration, and to explore how to bridge social divides and strengthen communities in the wake of the pandemic.
