Trustees / Chair of Trustees
IPPR is committed to equality of opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community, and from applicants with a range of professional and lived experiences. As an organisation engaging in critical debate about a wide range of progressive policy issues, we value the creativity and range of perspectives that a diverse team can provide.
We are looking for a new chair and trustees for IPPR, the UK’s leading progressive think tank
Under the leadership of our outgoing Chair Jess Search and our Executive Director Carys Roberts, IPPR has been reimagining what a think tank can be.
With an unparalleled track record of driving progressive change over 30 years, IPPR’s research and policy work has always put forward practical solutions to the crises facing society. In recent years we have broadened our perspective well beyond Westminster and Whitehall, working across IPPR, IPPR North and IPPR Scotland to influence policy change at every level of government, and developing solutions with strong community participation.
In our most recent strategy we have committed to continuing our programmes of research, communication and advocacy that turn progressive ideas into common sense realities. We have also committed to playing our part in wider social movements, putting our policy proposals at the service of everyone advocating for social, democratic, environmental and economic progress.
With Jess Search having stepped back from the chair position, we are now looking for a new chair alongside an additional two trustees for IPPR’s next phase. Our trustees are responsible for governance and oversight. Trustees keep our senior management team on track, making sure we do what we’ve said we will do and stay true to our mission. But being an IPPR trustee is not just another governance role: it’s an opportunity to support some of the UK’s best thinkers and most effective changemakers as they make a positive and lasting difference to the country.
