Senior research fellow

Roa is a senior research fellow in the economy team, where she co-leads the AI programme.

Roa's work focuses on identifying policies that will help the UK seize the opportunities AI brings and ensure new technologies benefit people across the UK.

Before joining IPPR, Roa worked on AI policy with the Alan Turing Institute, Centre for Emerging Technology and Security (CETaS), UNESCO, and the Interparliamentary Forum on Emerging Technologies. 

Her work has covered topics including AI regulation, AI assurance and enhancing public sector AI adoption. She has worked on the responsible adoption of AI across sectors from defence and security to health and wellbeing.
