The Lever Faberg? Family Report 2004 explores how parents talk and think about parenting and focuses on how support for parents, particularly those with teenagers, can be improved.
How well children do at school, whether they get involved in anti-social behaviour and how healthy they are, for example, are all seen to be dependent on the ability of their parents to 'do a good job'. Parents clearly have a responsibility for their children's behaviour; they also have a right to live in a society which creates a supportive environment in which to raise children.
