On the horizon: Realising the value of vaccines

Vaccines offer vast improvements to public health and economic stability, but England’s limited approach to innovation could slow the adoption of new immunization technologies and hinder these gains.
While England's new vaccine strategy makes important strides in improving public health, there is significant untapped potential in accelerating the adoption of vaccine innovations through better horizon scanning. The NHS and the broader economy stand to gain substantially from faster integration of new vaccines, yet current efforts are lagging.
To fully realize the benefits, it's crucial for government bodies and agencies to work together on improving horizon scanning and rollout processes. In this report, we outline practical steps to enhance vaccine adoption and propose a more systematic approach to maximize the health and economic advantages of vaccines in England.
