Transport is essential to our lives. Unfortunately, it is currently also the largest source of UK domestic carbon emissions.
Along with investment in infrastructure, the production of green transport equipment – electric trains and cars, for example – here in the UK, is the solution, for which there will be high demand, both domestically and abroad.
In this report, we show how the UK is well placed to capture this green growth potential, with existing areas of advantage and specialisation in transport manufacturing. The government should lean into these strengths, supporting transport manufacturing clusters across the country.
