Commission launches in the heart of London's 'Silicon Roundabout' district
The Commission on Economic Justice was formally launched on November 16th at a packed event at Shoreditch Town Hall in London’s new technology district.
Tom Kibasi, Director of IPPR and Chair of the Commission, introduced the Commission’s goals and vision, followed by contributions from five Commissioners: Sara Bryson, Juergen Meier, Helena Morrissey, Sandra Kerr and Grace Gould. Michael Jacobs, the Commission’s Director, set out the key findings of the new report, Out of Shape: Taking the Pulse of the UK Economy, which IPPR has published to accompany the launch.
The launch was covered by BBC Radio News, Sky News, the Guardian, Daily Mirror, Politics Home, The Herald, the Municipal Journal, Christian Today and other outlets; and the Telegraph and New Statesman carried comment pieces. During the launch, we trended on Twitter with #EconomicJustice, reaching over 250,000 people.
