A thriving economy in a turbulent world, with Ed Davey MP

The UK economy isn’t delivering for its people. Growth is anaemic and the cost of living crisis is hitting families and pensioners hard. Following all the economic turmoil of the financial crisis, Brexit, the Covid pandemic and the Conservatives' mini-budget, we now face the challenge of President Trump’s global trade war.

Urgent change is needed. Boosting productivity and getting the economy growing strongly and sustainably is critical for improving people’s living standards and wellbeing, expanding opportunity, and raising money to spend on public services and defence.

IPPR is delighted to be hosting this event, during which Ed Davey will lay out the Liberal Democrats’ plans to build an economy that is genuinely innovative, dynamic, prosperous and fair, to give everyone the chance to get on in life and see their hard work and aspiration properly rewarded.
