Digital Content Editor
Job Description
Working at the heart of IPPR's digital communications, you'll help ensure our research and ideas reach the audiences that matter most.
About the role
Are you a creative digital storyteller with a passion for creating content that people want to watch, share and engage with? Do you thrive on spotting opportunities in the news cycle and turning complex ideas into compelling social content? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive digital communicator to play a key role in one of Britain's busiest think tank communications teams, helping us reach new audiences and maximise the impact of our research through engaging, high-quality digital content.
We are an independent charity seeking to shape public debate and achieve social, democratic, environmental and economic progress. We work to ensure our research and ideas for policy change reach the audiences that matter most - decision-makers, influencers and the wider public - helping to make today's bold ideas tomorrow's common sense.
Working at the heart of IPPR's digital communications, you'll help ensure our research and ideas reach the audiences that matter most. You'll create engaging content across our social media channels to build audiences and maximise the impact of our work.
Duties will be varied and include creating compelling short-form video, designing and producing shareables for social media, writing high-quality copy for IPPR's digital platforms, supporting colleagues to develop, film and edit content, organising live streaming of events, supporting communications planning and delivery, and developing strategies to grow and engage IPPR's audiences across our social media channels.
About you
With experience of working in a busy content creation or digital communications role, and an interest in and understanding of UK public policy, politics and current affairs, you’ll play a key role in our communications team.
You’ll be confident building collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and have highly accomplished writing, editing and proofreading skills. You’ll be organised, proactive and able to work independently with a keen eye for detail, managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work under pressure.
You'll also need to be willing to travel and undertake some work out of hours, including attending conferences and events.
