Mirte is principal research fellow, where she leads on tackling regional inequality and the devolution of power from Westminster to England’s regions.
Before joining IPPR, Mirte co-founded and was the UK Director of the Carbon Balance Initiative, a climate NGO working closely with government and researchers on the net zero transition. Previously, she was a researcher at Oxford Net Zero and policy advisor on regional inequality at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
Mirte has a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford. She grew up in Lancaster and Cumbria.
