Ryan Jude

Associate fellow, IPPR North

Ryan Jude is an associate fellow at IPPR North.

Ryan works as a programme director at the Green Finance Institute, and is a former Westminster City Council cabinet member.

At GFI, Ryan works with national and local governments, the private sector and third sector to drive action on climate change. In his role as a programme director, he oversees the built environment, transport, and financial & investment analysis teams. He brings experience of local government leadership, and of both development and direct implementation of policy, having served as the cabinet member for climate, ecology, culture and air quality at Westminster City Council. Ryan is also a trustee at Stockport Advocacy, a community benefit society delivering advocacy services for people who may be marginalised or vulnerable in Stockport - the town he is from.

Ryan is working with IPPR North to support their work on fiscal devolution, regional economic growth, place-based investment and wider local government work on climate action. He is particularly interested in the role of combined and local governments in delivering tangible change for people’s lives, and the policy environment required to empower governments to achieve this, including through devolution of duties and fiscal powers.
