Commission on Economic Justice at Lambeth Palace

The Commission’s first full meeting took place at Lambeth Palace on January 30th, at the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury (one of our Commissioners).

Over four hours of lively debate Commissioners looked at the key characteristics of the British economy and some of the structural problems it faces; examined the key challenges which will be facing the economy over the next 15 years; discussed the nature of the present historical ‘moment’; and explored the vision, goals and values on which economic policy should be based.

The meeting marked an important stage in the Commission’s work, setting out the core principles which will underpin our research programme.
