India Gerritsen
ResearcherIndia is a researcher at IPPR North.
India joined IPPR North in June 2024. She has previously worked as a researcher for Gateshead Council’s Public Service Reform team, Nexus transport, and for a local MP.
She also has experience working directly with service users as a support worker and working for the VCSE sector, specifically around sexual violence against women, homelessness, and charity governance.
India has a MA in International Politics, Global Justice and Ethics, and a BA in History and History of Art from Newcastle University. Her academic research has won awards and publication. Her interests include structural violence and power, gender, homelessness, and housing.
