Joseph Sassoon
EconomistJoseph is an economist in IPPR's Centre for Geopolitics and International Policy
He is currently working on a project related to the cost of capital in emerging and developing economies.
Before joining IPPR, he worked as a macroeconomist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where he focused on cost-of-living crises and energy markets in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He also spent time at a boutique consultancy in South Africa, conducting research that was used to inform Covid welfare spending.
He has an MSc in Economics and Finance from the Barcelona School of Economics, an MA in Modern History from the London School of Economics, and a BSc in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Cape Town.
